BEDUGUL, BALI — November 11, 2025 — Handara Golf & Resort Bali, the iconic mountain destination set 1,142 meters above sea level, today announced the opening of Ankala Wellness & Spa. The new facility marks the resort’s evolution from a legendary golf destination to a complete highland wellness sanctuary, offering a dedicated space for active recovery.
For decades, Handara has been a haven for active guests—from golfers on its championship course to those practicing yoga, playing tennis, or “forest bathing” in the mountain air. Ankala was created as the missing piece: a central hub for all guests to recover, reset, and let the altitude do its work.
The spa’s philosophy is captured in its name, derived from two Sanskrit words: Aṅka, meaning “nine” or completion, and Kala, meaning “time” or transformation. Together, Ankala represents “completion through time,” a commitment to healing that can’t be rushed.

At the heart of this experience is the Japanese Onsen, which offers a hot bath experience, preserving the original layout introduced by the resort’s former Japanese management.
